TUCKER'S BLOG

Preparing for my first race for charity, I feel it should be like any other race. However, the Run for Rotary feels totally different. If I don't place my age group, I don't raise money, and that's making me nervous. But then again, under those circumstances, who wouldn't be nervous? The only real reason I'm nervous is because this the first race I ran that my performance matters. I still think i have a good chance at winning, but hey you never know.

Anyway, I am still having trouble finding corporate sponsors. My goal is to have ten sponsors, but I only have three. Actually, getting sponsors is pretty hard. Writing letters, presenting, hoping they call you back, etc. It can be nerve-racking. So please, help out and sponsor!

I would like to give a shout-out to Mr.John MacMaster, who was our first individual donator! He gave a very generous sum. I would also like to mention that if anyone would like to donate a lump sum of money, or donate to me after ever race, there is a button on my webpage.

I just finished my first race! I must tell you, I was really nervous. This was the first time that I felt that I needed to win or place because if I did not, I would be letting the Steps Together team down.  Fortunately,  I placed second in the 12-13 age group.  The fact that my race did something, it just feels awesome!

I finished in 21:30.  That's a little slow for me, but I ran a race yesterday, so I was a bit tired.  With that time, I finished 28th overall, so it was a fast field.

It was also a very intense race. There a ton of kids near my age, and the course had a lot of hills and turns. I thought I was going to lose, but I kept focusing, pushing and I placed! I still need to improve though--I want to be first in my age group so that I can raise more money for Steps Together. The kid who beat me was only 18 seconds ahead of me.  I was so close!  I just need to keep getting better.

Anyway, Steps Together is still relying on me and I  still need  support! Please donate to my cause, or sponsor me by pressing the button on my webpage!

 Live life with no regrets.

Hey guys!
I placed second in my race last week, and I am so pumped for my next one. This is getting easier. Still stressful, but less so. Also, we still need sponsors! So please help us and donate!

I just finished the Hillsborough Hop. There were a lot of people there, maybe a couple hundred, or maybe even a thousand. I didn't place in my age group, which means no money for charity. This is stressful and sad, but I still have seven more races to go, and I still need seven more sponsors. So please, help out!
